How do lunches work with EYE funding?
Government funding for universal or extended hours covers only the basic care in their funding rates to nurseries. The Government acknowledge this and advise nurseries to charge for any additional services they provide. For us, this includes our food, breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and tea.
We have optional additional service charges which covers all meals and snacks, non-food consumables and extra activity charges which covers our extensive opportunities we offer including the farm and Forest School. The government funding covers basic delivery of care and through the additional service charges, we are able to deliver the quality education and service that makes Great Wood Farm special.
